If the key fob on your SsangYong Tivoli (2015–2022) has gone weak or the central locking has become intermittent, the coin cell inside is almost certainly flat. It’s a quick swap with a CR2032.
Battery First — What You Need
- A CR2032 coin cell.
- A small flat screwdriver.
Replacing the Cell
- Remove the key cover to expose the cell (release the mechanical key blade first if fitted).
- Remove the old cell.
- Fit a new CR2032 with the positive side facing up (as marked).
- Refit the cover and check the remote locks and unlocks the car.
Lost Key or Adding a Spare
A cell swap keeps the existing coding. A lost or broken key must be ordered and programmed by a SsangYong dealer with a diagnostic tool — there’s no owner sequence.
If a Fresh Cell Doesn’t Help
- Check the orientation — the positive side faces up in this fob.
- Use the key blade to unlock the door in the meantime.
- Still intermittent? A receiver fault can store a code — look it up on autodtcs.com.
