These instructions apply to the Kia Picanto (JA) 2017 - Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
After disconnecting the battery on the Kia Picanto JA (2017–present), the electric sliding and tilting roof (sunroof) may lose its one-touch function. To restore normal operation, the system must be re-initialized manually using the roof control switch.
Initialization Procedure
- Switch the ignition ON (or start the engine if necessary).
- Make sure the sunroof is fully closed.
- Release the switch once closed.
- Press the switch forward to close the roof again — the sunroof will tilt and move slightly.
- Release the switch.
- Press the switch forward once more to close the roof.
- The system is now reset. Test the sunroof to confirm one-touch tilt and slide functions are restored.

Troubleshooting & Tips
- If the sunroof does not respond, check the fuse and ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Repeat the procedure if one-touch functionality does not restore the first time.
- Always perform initialization with the vehicle stationary and the ignition switched ON.
- Keep the sunroof tracks clean and lightly lubricated to ensure smooth operation.
