The Mazda 2 Hybrid (MXPH11, 2022–present) has a direct tyre-pressure monitoring system. After you adjust the pressures, rotate the wheels or fit winter tyres, the low-pressure warning needs a short relearn so it stores the new values as the baseline. On this Toyota-built car the relearn is a ‘set pressure’ menu step followed by a hold of the OK button — no garage tool required.

Set Your Pressures First

Park on level ground and set all four tyres, cold, to the figures on the placard in the driver’s door aperture (use the laden column for a full load). The system stores whatever you set, so getting these right is the whole job.

The low-pressure warning shows in the cluster; the relearn clears it once the new pressures are stored.

How to Relearn the Mazda 2 Hybrid TPMS

  1. Confirm all four tyres are at the correct cold pressure.
  2. Switch the ignition on (dials lit, hybrid system not READY).
  3. In the multifunction display, open the tyre-pressure menu and select ‘Set pressure’.
  4. Press and hold the OK button until the tyre-pressure indicator flashes three times.
  5. Switch off, then drive normally. The warning clears once the system confirms the stored pressures.

Light Won’t Go Out?

  • A tyre really is low: the system is doing its job — find the leak, re-inflate to the placard figure and repeat the relearn.
  • Light flashes for about a minute then stays on: that pattern signals a sensor fault (often a flat sensor battery after 5–7 years), not a soft tyre. A code may be stored — look it up on autodtcs.com.

Is there a TPMS button under the dash?

No physical reset button on this model — the ‘set pressure’ step lives in the multifunction display, confirmed by holding OK until the indicator flashes three times.

Do I need to relearn after swapping to winter wheels?

Yes, if the sensors or pressures change. Set the correct cold pressures, then run the relearn so the new baseline is stored.

Why did the light come back a few days later?

Usually a tyre is slowly losing air, or one was slightly low when the system last stored the values. Re-check all four cold and relearn again.
