Frequently Asked Questions
Using the site
How do I find the right guide for my car?
Use the Year–Make–Model selector on the homepage. Pick your year, then brand and model; we’ll take you to your generation page with all procedures (service reset, battery reconnect, windows, alignment, and more).
Can I browse by brand instead?
Yes. Visit the Brands page, select your brand, then choose model and generation to see all available guides.
What is a “generation” (e.g., Yaris P13)?
Many models change significantly across years. We group procedures by model generation (platform code + year range) to keep instructions accurate.
Coverage & compatibility
Do these guides work for all years of a model?
Procedures can vary between years and trims. Always open the guide that matches your generation and year range. If your year sits on the boundary, check both generations—or ask us.
My car isn’t listed. Can you add it?
Yes. Send a request via the contact form. Include your VIN if possible—it helps us identify the exact model/engine/trim and deliver the right procedure.
Do regional versions (EU/US/UK/JP) differ?
Sometimes. We note regional differences where relevant. If a step doesn’t match your car, tell us your region and VIN and we’ll adjust the guide.
Are hybrids/EVs covered?
Yes—coverage is expanding. Some EV/Hybrid procedures (e.g., 12V resets) differ from ICE vehicles; we call these out in the guide.
Tools & technical
Do I need an OBD2 scanner?
Many resets use button/ignition sequences (no tools). Some procedures require a basic OBD2 scanner. If a tool is required, it’s listed at the top of the guide.
Why didn’t my service light clear?
Double-check year/generation, follow each step precisely, and confirm ignition modes (ON/ACC). For stubborn lights, try a battery-off wait or OBD2 tool. If it still persists, share your VIN via Contact and we’ll help.
Will following a guide affect my warranty?
Basic resets typically do not. However, always follow your owner’s manual and local regulations. Use guides at your discretion.
Requests & updates
How do I request a new guide?
Use the contact form and include your VIN, year, make, and model. We’ll add the procedure to our queue and email you when it’s published.
How quickly are new guides published?
Turnaround varies by complexity and demand. We prioritize common models and requests that include a VIN.
Can I suggest corrections or improvements?
Absolutely. Send details via Contact (steps tried, instrument panel messages, photos if possible). We update guides regularly.
Troubleshooting
I get a 404 when using Year–Make–Model—why?
This usually means that generation has no published guides yet, or the URL structure changed. Try browsing via Brands. If still stuck, send your VIN and we’ll publish the right page.
Why does my cluster/menu look different?
Clusters vary by trim and region. Look for similarly named menu items. If nothing matches, share a photo—we’ll add an alternate path for your variant.
