Reset the Tyre Pressure Warning Light

These instructions apply to the Toyota Aygo Mk2 (B40) 2014-2021. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 5, 2026

When the tyre-pressure warning light comes on in your Toyota Aygo Mk2 (B40, 2014–2021), it usually just means the system needs to store your current pressures as the new reference after a check, top-up or wheel change. The Aygo has a physical reset button hidden in the glovebox — this guide shows exactly where it is and how to use it.

When to Reset

  • After checking or adjusting the tyre pressures (including seasonal changes).
  • After changing one or more wheels or tyres.
  • After disconnecting or renewing the battery.

Set Your Pressures First

The reset stores whatever pressures are in the tyres at that moment, so they must be correct first. Park on a level surface and set all four (cold) to the figures on the placard in the driver’s door aperture, using the laden column for a full load. Never reset with a tyre already low.

How to Reset the Aygo TPMS

  1. Make sure all four tyres are at the correct cold pressure and the car is on level ground.
  2. Turn the ignition on (engine can be off).
  3. Open the glovebox — the TPMS reset button is inside the glovebox.
  4. Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds until the TPMS warning light flashes 3 times.
  5. Turn the ignition off. If the light didn’t flash, repeat the procedure.
  6. Drive the vehicle for about 20 minutes to complete the relearn and store the new pressures.

Light Won’t Go Out? Work Through This

  • A tyre is genuinely low: the system is doing its job — find and fix the leak, re-inflate, then reset.
  • Reset not confirmed: the warning light should flash 3 times when you hold the glovebox button — if not, check the ignition is on and repeat.
  • Light flashes then stays on (not a low tyre): a flashing TPMS light points to a sensor fault, often a flat sensor battery. A code may be stored that you can look up on autodtcs.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the TPMS reset button on an Aygo?

Inside the glovebox. Open the glovebox, hold the button for 3 seconds (ignition on) until the warning light flashes three times, then drive for 20 minutes.

Do I have to drive after resetting?

Yes — the system reads the sensors while the wheels turn, so a 20-minute drive completes the relearn.

Why does the light come back a few days later?

Either a tyre is slowly losing air, or it was a little low when you reset. Re-check all four cold pressures and reset again.

Do I need to reset after just topping up the air?

Yes — any pressure change shifts the reference, so reset after any adjustment.

After tyre or seasonal-wheel work it is worth confirming the service reminder is clear — see our Toyota Aygo service indicator reset guide.
