Home/Honda/Civic/Mk11 (FE/FL) 2022-Present/Reset the Service Indicator

Reset the Service Indicator

These instructions apply to the Honda Civic Mk11 (FE/FL) 2022-Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 6, 2026

When the wrench/spanner and a “Service” message appear on your Honda Civic Mk11 (FE/FL, 2022–present) — the e:HEV hybrid — the maintenance minder has run down. You clear it from the driver’s display using the steering-wheel select control. No garage tool needed. Do the oil and filter change first.

Reset After the Service Only

Honda’s Maintenance Minder tracks oil condition and the service items due. Reset it once the work is done, or the next interval will be wrong.

How to Reset the Civic Mk11 Service Reminder

  1. With the car stationary, turn the ignition ON (you don’t need to be in READY).
  2. Bring up the display so ‘SERVICE’ is shown.
  3. Press and hold the select/info button on the steering wheel for at least 10 seconds.
  4. Select the service item you’ve completed from the menu and press the button.
  5. ‘Reset completed’ appears — the minder is cleared.

If It Doesn’t Reset

  • You didn’t hold long enough — the select button needs a full 10-second hold to enter the reset.
  • A different warning is lit — that’s a fault, not the maintenance minder.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the maintenance light on a Honda Civic?

Ignition on, show ‘SERVICE’, hold the steering-wheel select button ~10 seconds, choose the completed item and confirm until ‘Reset completed’ shows.

Do I need a diagnostic tool?

No — it’s done from the car’s own display.

Does it need to be in READY mode?

No — ignition-on while stationary is enough.

The message came back — why?

The hold didn’t register, or you reset the wrong item. Repeat and confirm to ‘Reset completed’.

If a warning light appeared with the service message, look it up on autodtcs.com. After battery work, see our Civic Mk11 battery guide.
