The Peugeot 3008 (Mk2/P84, 2016–present) has one of the richest owner-accessible hidden menus in the range. Cars built with the NAC (Continental) infotainment — the wide i-Cockpit touchscreen on most 3008 Mk2s — carry a genuine Expert / Engineering Mode you can open yourself with no Diagbox and no garage. Through it you can read software versions, GPS satellite status, and even amplifier, battery and temperature figures the normal menus never show. Later facelift cars moved to the newer IVI system, which has its own simpler version (covered at the end).
What the NAC Expert menu shows
The NAC system keeps a set of numbered diagnostic pages for technicians. Among the ones owners use most:
- Page 1130 — amplifier and battery / electrical information.
- Page 1134 — GPS satellites and location services, useful if the sat-nav arrow drifts.
- Page 1135 — TomTom navigation version.
- Page 1137 — current user status and internal temperature.
- Page 1138 / 1139 — processor and graphics load (how hard the unit is working).
- Page 1140 / 1145 — Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, tethering and mobile-provider status on connected cars.
These are read-out screens. They show you what the head unit is doing — they do not recode the car or change how it drives.
How to open it
Do this parked, ignition on, with the screen booted to the normal home display.
- Find the Music / audio source key in the row of piano keys below the screen and press and hold it until a numeric keypad appears.
- Enter 1111 to reach the spy-log / Expert area, or 1122 for the system-information entry point.
- To read a specific diagnostic page, type its number first (for example 1130 for battery/amplifier or 1137 for temperature), then enter 1122 to display that page.
The two-step “page number, then 1122” sequence is how NAC reveals the detailed read-outs — entering 1122 on its own only shows the general system page.
Reading it
Use page 1130 to glance at the electrical/battery figures, 1134 to confirm the GPS aerial is actually seeing satellites when navigation wanders, and 1137 if you suspect the unit is overheating after long use in the sun. The version pages (1135 and the system page) tell you whether a dealer map or firmware update is worth booking.
How to exit
Press the Menu or home piano key to return to the normal display, or switch the ignition off and back on — NAC always reboots into the standard owner interface. Nothing you viewed is saved or altered.
Newer 3008 with IVI
Facelifted 3008 Mk2 cars fitted with the later Stellantis IVI system use a different method: place three fingers on the screen and hold for about four seconds until the keypad appears, then enter 1232020. That mode is simpler — mainly software versions and crash logs — rather than the full NAC page list above.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which infotainment does my 3008 Mk2 have, NAC or IVI?
The great majority of 3008 Mk2s up to the 2020–21 facelift use NAC, opened with the Music key and the 1111/1122 codes. The newest facelift cars use IVI, opened with the three-finger gesture and 1232020. If the Music-key keypad does not appear, try the three-finger IVI method.
Can I really see the battery and temperature here?
On NAC cars, yes — page 1130 carries amplifier and battery/electrical data and page 1137 shows internal temperature, entered as the page number followed by 1122. These are read-outs for reference, not a substitute for a proper battery load test at the terminals.
Is it safe to open these pages?
The diagnostic pages are read-only, so viewing them is safe. Avoid any reset or update option you stumble onto if you do not know what it does — a forced firmware action could disturb the unit. For everyday curiosity, just look and back out.
The keypad will not appear when I hold the Music key.
Make sure the screen has fully booted, then hold the Music key firmly for several seconds. If nothing happens at all, your car likely has the newer IVI system — use the three-finger hold plus 1232020 instead.
Will this fix my sat-nav drifting?
It will not repair it, but page 1134 shows how many GPS satellites the car is receiving, which tells you whether the problem is a weak signal/aerial fault or something in the map data — useful information to give a dealer.
If a warning light or fault message is showing on the dash alongside any screen trouble, your 3008 may have stored a diagnostic trouble code — you can look up what it means on autodtcs.com.
