If the touchscreen on your Citroën C3 Mk3 (2016–2024) freezes, goes black, loses sound or drops Bluetooth, a forced reboot usually fixes it without a trip to the dealer. It doesn’t erase your radio presets or settings.
How to reset the touchscreen on a Citroën C3
- Switch the ignition on (engine running or in accessory mode).
- Press and hold the on/off (volume) knob for about 10–15 seconds.
- Keep holding until the screen goes black and the Citroën/system logo reappears — then let go.
- Give it a minute to restart fully before using it.
If it still won’t behave, try a full power-down: lock the car and leave it for 10–15 minutes so the system sleeps, then reopen it. Persistent faults after a reboot can point to a software update being due or a wiring/connector issue.
Frequently asked questions
Will resetting the C3 screen delete my settings?
No — a reboot just restarts the system. Your radio presets, paired phones and settings are kept (only a full factory reset clears those).
My C3 screen is black but the car drives fine — is that safe?
Yes, it’s an infotainment glitch, not a drivetrain fault. Reboot the screen as above; the car is safe to drive.
If a warning light appears alongside the screen fault, you can look up the code on autodtcs.com.
