Home/DS/7 Crossback/Mk1 (X74) 2017-Present/Reset the Service Indicator

Reset the Service Indicator

These instructions apply to the DS 7 Crossback Mk1 (X74) 2017-Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 7, 2026

When the service / spanner reminder shows on your DS 7 Crossback (2017–present), you can clear it yourself after an oil change with the car’s reset button — no dealer and no diagnostic tool. It’s the standard PSA method and works the same on the petrol, diesel and E-Tense plug-in hybrid DS 7.

Before You Start

The indicator counts down to the next oil/maintenance service, so only reset it once the work is done. You’ll use the reset button on the cluster (the trip/0.0 button) with the start/stop button.

Resetting the Service Indicator

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Press and hold the reset button on the instrument cluster.
  3. Still holding it, press the START/STOP button to switch the ignition on (don’t start the engine).
  4. The maintenance symbol and a countdown appear — keep holding the reset button.
  5. When the countdown reaches ‘0’, release the button; the symbol disappears.
  6. Switch the ignition off. The service indicator is reset.

If the Reminder Won’t Clear

  • Keep the reset button held the entire time — releasing early cancels it.
  • Ignition on, engine off when you press start/stop (don’t touch the brake).
  • A different warning? An oil-pressure or sensor fault stores a code — look it up on autodtcs.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the service light on a DS 7 Crossback?

Ignition off, hold the cluster reset button, press start/stop to switch on, keep holding until the countdown reaches 0, then switch off.

Do I need a diagnostic tool?

No — the button sequence is the owner method.

Does it work on the E-Tense plug-in hybrid?

Yes — the reset is the same across the DS 7 Crossback range.

The light came back — why?

The reset likely didn’t complete; repeat it, holding the button until the countdown hits 0.

If another warning light appeared with the service message, our sister site autodtcs.com can help you decode it.
