Last updated: January 26, 2026

The service indicator on the Citroën Berlingo (-First) reminds the driver when scheduled maintenance is due. The reset procedure is manual but differs depending on the vehicle’s production date and DAM/RPO number. Follow the method that matches your Berlingo’s build period.

How to Identify the Correct Method

  • Vehicles produced up to 30 September 2002 use the early reset procedure.
  • Vehicles produced from 1 October 2002 onward use the later reset procedure.
  • The DAM/RPO number can usually be found on a sticker in the engine bay or door pillar.

Service Indicator Reset – Up to 30 September 2002 (DAM/RPO up to 09457)

  1. Switch the ignition OFF.
  2. Press and hold the service reset button on the instrument cluster.
  3. While holding the button, switch the ignition ON.
  4. The maintenance symbol appears and a countdown begins.
  5. Keep the button pressed until the countdown reaches 0.
  6. Release the button when 0 is displayed.
  7. The maintenance symbol disappears.
  8. Switch the ignition OFF.

The service indicator is now reset.

Service Indicator Reset – From 1 October 2002 (DAM/RPO from 09458)

  1. Switch the ignition OFF.
  2. Press and hold the service reset button.
  3. Switch the ignition ON while keeping the button pressed.
  4. Continue holding the button until the countdown completes.
  5. Release the button when 0 appears on the display.
  6. Switch the ignition OFF.
  7. Switch the ignition ON again to verify the reset.

The service indicator has been successfully reset.

Additional Information

  • This procedure applies to Citroën Berlingo (-First) models on the M49 and M59 platforms.
  • The reset affects the service reminder only and does not clear fault codes.
  • If the indicator does not reset, repeat the procedure carefully from the beginning.
