If the key fob on your Infiniti QX30 (H15, 2016–2019) has gone weak or the central locking has become intermittent, the coin cell inside is almost certainly flat. It’s a quick swap with a CR2025.
Battery First — What You Need
- A CR2025 coin cell (3 V).
- The fob’s own mechanical key blade (used to open the case).
Replacing the Cell
- Slide the lock to the right and pull out the mechanical key.
- Press the mechanical key against the key cover and pull off the button-cell cover.
- Remove the old cell.
- Fit a new CR2025 with the positive side facing up.
- Refit the cover and the key, then check the remote locks and unlocks the car.
Lost Key or Adding a Spare
A cell swap keeps the existing coding. A lost or broken key can only be ordered and programmed by a dealer with a diagnostic tool — there’s no owner sequence.
If a Fresh Cell Doesn’t Help
- Check the orientation — the positive side faces up.
- Use the mechanical blade to unlock the door in the meantime.
- Still intermittent? A receiver fault can store a code — look it up on autodtcs.com.

How do I open the fob?
Slide the lock, remove the mechanical key, then use it to prise off the cell cover.
