The Nissan Pulsar equipped with the RE0F11A CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) requires a precise fluid level check and refill procedure. This process must be performed with the correct temperature range and, in most cases, with diagnostic equipment.
Important Notes
The transmission fluid temperature must be between 35–45°C during level checks.
A diagnostic tool is required to monitor CVT fluid temperature.
Always use Nissan-approved CVT fluid.
Draining Procedure
Park the vehicle on a lift and apply the parking brake.
Place the gear selector in P.
Raise the vehicle and remove the drain plug.
Remove the overflow tube.
Attach the special service tool KV311039S0 and connect the filler tube.
Drain the old fluid completely.
Refilling the CVT
Fill with approximately 3.0 liters of fresh CVT fluid.
Remove the filler tube and reinstall the drain plug.
Lower the vehicle.
Start the engine and press the brake pedal.
Cycle the shifter slowly through P → L, pausing 5 seconds in each gear.
Return to P and recheck fluid temperature (35–45°C).
Stop the engine.
Fluid Level Check
Raise the vehicle again and remove the drain plug.
Add about 0.5 liters of CVT fluid.
If the fluid begins to trickle and then drip steadily, the level is correct.
Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer.
Lower the vehicle and shut off the engine.
Torque Specifications
CVT overflow tube: 14.8 Nm
CVT drain plug (replace washer): 34.3 Nm
⚠️ Tip: Incorrect fluid level or type can cause serious damage to the CVT. Always follow Nissan guidelines and use the correct tools.
