Home/Peugeot/1007/A0 (2005–2011)/Initialize the Electric Sliding Door

Initialize the Electric Sliding Door

These instructions apply to the Peugeot 1007 A0 (2005–2011). For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The Peugeot 1007 is fitted with powered sliding doors. After a battery disconnect, weak battery, or if the door is operated by hand, the system can lose its reference points and the door may not open/close automatically. Use this DIY procedure to re-initialize the door control so one-touch and anti-pinch functions work correctly.

Before You Start

  • Charge the 12 V battery or keep a charger in supply/maintain mode. Low voltage can interrupt the learn cycle.
  • Make sure nothing blocks the door track and that the rubber seals are clean.
  • Work on level ground with the ignition key available. Keep children and pets away from the doorway.

Initialization – Left or Right Door

  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine not running).
  2. From inside the car, press and hold the corresponding door button (on the dashboard or B-pillar) to command a full close. Keep holding until the door reaches the fully closed position and you hear/see the latch secure.
  3. Release the button, then press and hold the same button to command a full open. Keep holding until the door reaches the fully open position and stops.
  4. Repeat one more complete cycle: hold to close fully → release → hold to open fully.
  5. Finish with the door closed. Switch the ignition OFF and wait 10 seconds.
  6. Test one-touch operation using the interior button and the remote. The door should open and close smoothly without stopping mid-travel.

If the Door Stops or Reverses

  • Anti-pinch likely activated. Check the track, lower roller, and seals for debris; wipe with a damp cloth.
  • Lubricate the metal guide rail lightly with silicone spray (avoid the rubber seal and the belt cable).
  • Repeat the full initialization cycle from the beginning with a good battery voltage.

When to Re-Initialize

  • After disconnecting or replacing the battery.
  • After manually forcing the door open/closed.
  • When the door only moves in small steps or beeps without completing travel.

Safety Notes

  • Keep hands clear of the door edge while learning anti-pinch limits.
  • If the door fails to latch: check the striker alignment and the rear latch area for obstruction.
  • Repeated failure after cleaning and re-initializing may indicate a worn roller, latch microswitch, or cable issue — seek professional inspection.
