Perform Emergency CVT Shift Lock Release (RE0F11A)

These instructions apply to the Nissan Pulsar C13, C12, B17 (2014 - 2018). For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

In rare cases, the gear lever of the Nissan Pulsar with CVT (RE0F11A) may become stuck and cannot be moved into P (Park). Nissan provides a manual emergency release procedure that allows you to shift into Neutral (N) so the vehicle can be moved safely.

Safety Note

  • Always apply the parking brake or block the wheels before performing this procedure to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

Emergency Release Procedure

  1. Switch the ignition OFF.

  2. Apply the parking brake.

  3. Locate the Shift Lock Release slot next to the gear lever (see image below).

  4. Insert a flat screwdriver into the slot and press down.

  5. While holding the screwdriver down, press and hold the Shift Lock button on the gear lever.

  6. Move the gear lever into N (Neutral).

  7. Remove the screwdriver – the release procedure is complete.

⚠️ Tip: This procedure is intended for emergency use only. Have the transmission system inspected by a professional if the gear lever becomes stuck repeatedly.
