The Toyota Prius+ (sold as the Prius v in North America, ZVW40 platform, 2012–2021) uses a standard 16-pin OBD-II diagnostic socket, exactly like any other modern Toyota. Even though this is a hybrid with a high-voltage system, the diagnostic connector itself is ordinary and low-voltage, so a normal code reader plugs straight in. On this seven-seat Prius the socket sits low under the driver’s side of the dash and is reachable without removing any trim, which makes it easy to check a warning lamp or read the hybrid system’s stored codes.
OBD-II Port Location
On the Prius+ the diagnostic socket is under the dash on the driver’s side, close to and slightly toward the centre from the steering column. The connector is a pale-coloured 16-pin socket that faces downward under the lower edge of the dash panel.
