These instructions apply to the MG MG3 Mk2 2024-present.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
The MG3 (2024–present), including the Hybrid+, uses a self-learning tyre-pressure monitor with no reset button — after you adjust the pressures or change a wheel it relearns as you drive. Set the tyres correctly, park the locked car for about 25 minutes, then take a short drive and the warning clears itself. Here is exactly how, and the pressures to set.
Recommended Tyre Pressures
The placard is on the driver’s B-pillar (visible with the door open). MG’s cold figure for the new MG3 is 2.5 bar (250 kPa / 37 psi) front and rear; the space-saver spare takes 4.2 bar (60 psi). Always set them cold. For towing, raise the rear by about 0.2 bar, never above 3.0 bar. Current pressures are shown on the driver display.
How to Reset (Relearn) the MG3 Tyre Pressures
- Set all four tyres to the correct cold pressure from the B-pillar placard.
- Power off and lock the vehicle for about 25 minutes.
- Then drive for a while at over 20 mph (30 km/h), making several turns during the journey.
- The system relearns your pressures as the new baseline and the warning light goes out.
⚠️ There is no button or menu reset. The MG3 learns passively as you drive, so both the 25-minute park and the driving cycle are needed — a quick move on the driveway will not complete it.
If the Light Won’t Go Out
- A tyre is genuinely low: find the leak, reinflate all four cold to the placard figure, then drive the relearn again.
- Not driven far/long enough: give it a continuous run above 30 km/h rather than short trips.
- After fitting a new sensor: it must be an original factory part; if the light stays on the relearn has failed — repeat the park-and-drive cycle.
- Flashing then steady, or a stored code, points to a system fault rather than a soft tyre — look it up on autodtcs.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the tyre-pressure reset button on the new MG3?
There isn’t one. The MG3 relearns automatically — set the correct pressures, park locked for 25 minutes, then drive above 30 km/h.
What pressure should the MG3 tyres be?
About 2.5 bar (37 psi) front and rear, set cold. Your exact figure for your tyre size is on the driver’s B-pillar placard.
Is the Hybrid+ the same?
Yes — the petrol and Hybrid+ MG3 use the same self-learning system and the same park-and-drive relearn.
Do I need a tool to reset it?
No — the tyre-pressure relearn needs no tool. (The separate service reminder is owner-doable too — see our MG3 service reset guide.)
The light came back after a cold night — why?
Cold air lowers pressure; top the affected tyre to the placard figure and drive the relearn again.
