Reset the Maintenance Interval Reminder

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated September 7, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Nissan Quest Mk4 (RE52) 2011-2017.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Quests fitted with the vehicle information display can show maintenance-interval reminders on the Nissan Quest (RE52, 2011–2017) — a “maintenance due” notice for engine oil, tires or a job you set yourself. After the work is done you reset the reminder’s distance to zero so it counts down again, all from the dashboard.

How the Reminder Works

Each reminder has an interval you set, and the system counts the distance since the last reset. When the interval is reached and the reminder is on, a maintenance notice appears when you switch the ignition on. Resetting after a service starts the count again from zero.

How to Reset a Maintenance Reminder

It is done from the INFO button and the controller on the display (on models with the centre multi-function display).

  1. Switch the ignition to ON.
  2. Press the INFO button and select the Maintenance menu.
  3. Choose the reminder you have just serviced (for example engine oil or tires).
  4. Select Reset (the “reset distance” option) to return that reminder’s distance to 0.
  5. To change how often it warns, set a new interval distance and confirm.
  6. Make sure the reminder is left on if you want the notice to reappear at the next interval.

If the Notice Keeps Appearing

The maintenance notice shows at each start until it is reset or switched off. If it returns straight after a reset, go back into the Maintenance menu and confirm that item’s distance now reads zero. To stop being reminded for an item, set its reminder to off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this reset an oil-life or service light? It resets the owner-set maintenance-interval reminder on the information display — the RE52 Quest has no separate resettable service light.

Which items can I track? Engine oil, tires and other jobs you define, each with its own interval.

Do I need a scan tool? No — the reset is done entirely from the dashboard INFO menu.

My Quest has no such menu. The feature depends on the display fitted; models without the centre information display have no reminder to reset.

If a warning light other than a maintenance notice is showing, our sister site autodtcs.com lists engine trouble codes.
