The Citroen C3 Mk3 (2016–2024) uses the classic PSA trip-button method to clear its service reminder — the spanner/maintenance symbol. It takes about ten seconds and needs no tools.
Do this after an oil and filter change, or whenever the maintenance spanner stays lit on the display.
How to reset the service indicator on a Citroen C3
- Switch the ignition off.
- Press and hold the trip/reset button (the rod button on the instrument panel or the end of the wiper stalk, depending on your cluster).
- While still holding it, switch the ignition on. The maintenance spanner appears and a countdown starts on the display.
- Keep the button held while the counter runs down.
- Release the button when 0 (or “=0”) appears. The spanner disappears and the service interval is reset.
If the spanner comes straight back on, the counter did not reach zero before you let go — switch off and repeat, holding the button until the display clearly shows the reset is complete.
