To change the front wiper blades on a Citroen C3 Mk3 (2016–2024) you first move the arms to their vertical service position. If you just lift the arms off the glass without doing this, they can foul the bonnet.
How to put the Citroen C3 wipers in service position
- Make sure the bonnet is closed.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Within one minute of switching off, operate the wiper stalk (flick it as if for a single wipe).
- The wiper arms move up to the vertical service position, clear of the bonnet, so you can lift them and renew the blades.
Returning the wipers to normal
- After fitting the new blades, lower the arms back onto the glass.
- Switch the ignition on and operate the wipers once.
- The arms drop back to their normal parked position.
Always complete this before driving — leaving the wipers in the service position means they won’t park correctly and can catch the bonnet edge.

Is there a time limit?
Yes — operate the stalk within about a minute of switching the ignition off, or the car returns the wipers to park.
