Home/Peugeot/3008/Mk2 (P84) 2016-Present/Reset the Service Indicator

Reset the Service Indicator

These instructions apply to the Peugeot 3008 Mk2 (P84) 2016-Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 12, 2026

When the spanner (service) symbol appears on the dash of your Peugeot 3008 Mk2 (P84, 2016–present), it just means the service interval has elapsed. After the work is done the reminder is cleared in seconds using the trip-reset button — no tools or dealer visit needed. This guide shows the exact Peugeot routine.

Before You Start

Only reset the indicator once the service has actually been carried out. Clearing it early just hides the reminder while the oil and filters keep ageing. The reset uses the reset (zero/trip) button at the end of the wiper stalk or on the dash, combined with the ignition.

How to Reset the 3008 Mk2 Service Indicator

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Press and hold the reset button (the trip/zero button).
  3. While still holding it, turn the ignition on.
  4. The ‘maintenance key’ symbol appears and a countdown starts on the display.
  5. Keep the button pressed until the countdown reaches ‘0’.
  6. Release the button — the maintenance symbol disappears and the system is reset.

If the Reminder Comes Straight Back

  • It reappears at start-up: you released the button before the countdown finished — repeat and hold until ‘0’.
  • A separate warning light is on: that’s a fault, not the service timer — the service reset won’t clear a genuine fault code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the reset button on the 3008?

It’s the trip-reset (zero) button — on most 3008 Mk2s at the end of the right-hand wiper stalk, or on the instrument panel. The one you use to reset the trip distance.

Does the engine need to be running?

No — in fact the engine should be off. You hold the button, then switch the ignition on (without starting) and wait for the countdown.

How long is the countdown?

A few seconds. Keep holding until the display shows ‘0’, then release.

The light stays on after resetting — why?

If it’s the spanner symbol, you let go too early. A different warning (engine, oil) is a fault needing diagnosis, not a service reset.

If a warning light appeared alongside the service message, look up the code on autodtcs.com. After any battery work, see our 3008 battery guide.
