Set the Windscreen Wipers to Service Position

These instructions apply to the Peugeot 3008 Mk2 (P84) 2016-Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 5, 2026

To change the wiper blades on a Peugeot 3008 Mk2 (P84, 2016–present) you first need to put the wipers in their service (vertical) position — raised up the screen so the arms lift clear of the bonnet. If you just switch off, the wipers park low where they’re awkward to reach. This guide shows the simple stalk routine.

Why There’s a Service Position

The 3008 parks its wiper arms low against the scuttle. That makes the blades hard to reach and risks bending an arm against the bonnet if you try to lift them there. The service position raises them so they swing away freely.

How to Set the 3008 Mk2 Wiper Service Position

  1. Make sure the wipers are parked and the bonnet is closed.
  2. Turn the ignition off.
  3. Within 1 minute of switching off, operate the wipers with the stalk (a single flick/wipe command).
  4. The wipers move up to the service position and stop there.
  5. Lift the arms away from the glass and renew the blades.

Returning the Wipers to Normal

  1. Fold the wiper arms back down onto the screen.
  2. Turn the ignition on — the wipers move back to their normal parked position.

If the Wipers Won’t Move to Service Position

  • You waited too long: the command only works within about 1 minute of switching off — switch off and try again promptly.
  • Blades frozen to the glass: free them gently first, or the motor may stall.
  • Wipers were mid-wipe: let them finish and park before switching off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why won’t my 3008 wipers lift off the screen normally?

They park low against the scuttle. Put them in the service position first by operating the wipers within 1 minute of switching the ignition off.

Do I need any tools?

No — it’s done entirely with the ignition and wiper stalk.

How do I get them back to normal?

Fold the arms down and turn the ignition on — the wipers return to the parked position.

Can I damage the arms by lifting them at the parked position?

Yes — forcing them up against the bonnet can bend an arm or strain the linkage. Always use the service position.
