First, a Few Checks

- Park on level ground with the handbrake or electronic park brake applied.
- For the central-display method, have the ignition on with the engine off; for the trip-button method, start from the ignition LOCK (off) position as described below.
- No tools are needed — both methods use the car’s own controls.
- Know which cluster your CX-5 has: cars with the digital instrument display can use the quick trip-button method; others use the central display.
Method 1 — Central Display
- Turn the ignition on (engine off).
- Using the central display / Commander dial, select ‘Applications’.

The trip-button route is quicker but relies on the digital instrument cluster and the flashing oil-pressure light as its only confirmation. If the Reminder Returns
- It comes back at start-up — the reset wasn’t confirmed; repeat to the Reset step.
- A different warning is on — that’s a fault, not the service timer.
- The trip-button method did nothing — make sure you began from ignition LOCK and held the button the full ~5 seconds, watching for the oil-pressure light to flash; if it still won’t confirm, use the central-display method.
Once the Reset Is Done
