Set the Air Suspension to Jack Mode

These instructions apply to the Bentley Continental GT Mk3 (3S) 2018-2022. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Before you jack up or lift your Bentley Continental GT (3S, 2018–2022), you must lock the air suspension (jacking mode). Otherwise the self-levelling system keeps adjusting ride height and can fight the jack or set faults. You do it from the dashboard menu.

Why It Matters

The air suspension constantly adjusts ride height. Lifting the car without locking it can stress the air struts and trigger warnings. Always set Suspension lock first.

Activating Jacking Mode (Suspension Lock)

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. On the multifunction display, select ‘Settings’ > ‘Vehicle’ > ‘Chassis’ > ‘Suspension lock’.
  3. The suspension is locked — you can safely jack or lift the car.

Turning It Off

  • Repeat the menu step (Settings > Vehicle > Chassis > Suspension lock), or
  • Simply drive off above about 6 km/h — it cancels and the suspension re-levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I put a Continental GT in jack mode?

Ignition on, then Settings > Vehicle > Chassis > Suspension lock on the display.

Do I need a tool?

No — it’s a dashboard-menu setting.

What happens if I jack it without locking?

The air suspension keeps trying to level the car, which can damage the struts and set faults.

How do I turn it back off?

Repeat the menu step, or drive off — it cancels with speed.

If a suspension fault light appears, decode the code on autodtcs.com.
