Before you jack up or lift your Bentley Continental GT / GTC (393/394, 2011–2017), you must put the air suspension into jacking mode. Otherwise the self-levelling system keeps adjusting ride height and can fight the jack or set faults. On this generation it’s a two-button sequence.
Why It Matters
The air suspension constantly adjusts ride height. Lifting the car without jacking mode can stress the air struts and trigger warnings. Always activate it first.
Activating Jacking Mode
- Turn the ignition on.
- Press and hold button (1) and, at the same time, press button (2).
- Keep both buttons pressed for about 5 seconds.
- The display shows ‘JACKING UP MODE’ — you can safely raise the car.
Turning It Off
- Repeat the two-button sequence for 5 seconds, or
- Simply drive off — it cancels with speed and the suspension re-levels.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I put a Continental GT (393) in jack mode?
Ignition on, then hold the two suspension buttons together for 5 seconds until ‘JACKING UP MODE’ shows.
Do I need a tool?
No — it’s the two-button sequence on the console.
What happens if I jack it without this?
The air suspension keeps trying to level the car, which can damage the struts and set faults.
How do I cancel it?
Repeat the sequence, or drive off — it cancels with speed.
If a suspension fault light appears, decode the code on autodtcs.com.
