The third-generation Suzuki Jimny (chassis JB23/JB33/JB43/JB53) ran from 1998 to 2018 and was sold across Europe as the JB43 with the 1.3-litre M13A petrol engine. It keeps a ladder frame, a rigid live axle front and rear, and a lever- or button-operated transfer case with 2WD, 4WD High and 4WD Low ranges. The cluster is deliberately simple — there is no electronic service-interval display to reset on most cars, so maintenance is tracked by mileage, and the owner jobs that matter are switching into four-wheel drive correctly, setting the right tire pressures, changing bulbs and fuses, and jump-starting or replacing the engine-bay 12V battery. The guides below cover those procedures for the whole JB generation, with any differences between the early 1.3 (G13BB) and the 2005-on VVT (M13A) cars flagged where they matter.
