The Citroen C4 Mk2 (B71, 2010–2018) uses the PSA trip-button method to clear its service reminder — the spanner/maintenance symbol. It takes about ten seconds and needs no tools.
Do this after an oil and filter change, or whenever the maintenance spanner stays lit.
How to reset the service indicator on a Citroen C4 (2010–2018)
- Switch the ignition off.
- Press and hold the trip-recorder (mileage reset) button on the instrument panel.
- While still holding it, switch the ignition on. The maintenance spanner appears and a countdown starts.
- Keep the button held while the counter runs down.
- Release the button when 0 appears and the spanner disappears, then switch the ignition off. The service interval is reset.
If the spanner returns immediately, the countdown did not finish before you let go — switch off and repeat, holding the button until the display clearly shows the reset is done.
Frequently asked questions
Which button resets the C4 service light?
The trip/mileage reset button on the dash. Hold it, switch the ignition on, and keep holding until the countdown reaches zero.
Do I need a diagnostic tool?
No. The oil-service reset is a full owner job on the C4 using the trip button.
If a warning light stayed on after the reset, you can look up the fault code behind it on autodtcs.com.
