The Dacia Sandero (Mk2 / X52, 2012–2020) resets its service light from the driver’s seat — no tools needed. There are two owner methods depending on whether your trim has the extra button on the wiper stalk. Change the oil and filter first; the reset only clears the message.

Method 1 — Pedal Method (no stalk button)

  1. Put the gearbox in neutral and switch the ignition on (engine off).
  2. Within 10 seconds, press and hold the accelerator pedal fully.
  3. Keeping the accelerator held, press and release the brake pedal 3 times.
  4. Release both pedals at the same time — the service indicator is reset.
  5. Repeat the procedure if the message is still showing.

Method 2 — Wiper-Stalk Button

  1. Select neutral and switch the ignition on.
  2. Press the button on the end of the wiper stalk repeatedly until the mileage (odometer) reading shows.
  3. Press and hold the button — the new service interval appears on the display.
  4. Release the button. The service indicator is reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which method does my Sandero use?

If there’s a button on the tip of the wiper stalk, use Method 2. If not, use the accelerator-and-brake pedal sequence (Method 1). Both are owner procedures — no tool required.

Does resetting the light service the car?

No — it only clears the reminder and restarts the interval. Always change the oil and filter first.

The light won’t reset — what now?

Make sure you’re in neutral, ignition on (engine off), and do the sequence within the 10-second window. If it still won’t clear, a Dacia tool can reset it (Method 3 at a garage).
