After an oil-and-filter change the service / oil-change message on your Ford Mondeo (Mk V, CD391, 2014–2022) stays on until you clear it. You do it from the steering-wheel menu — no dealer tool needed.
Before You Start
Only reset once the service is genuinely done — the reminder is what tracks the next oil change.
Resetting via the Menu
- Switch the ignition on (engine off).
- Using the steering-wheel arrows, open the cluster menu and scroll to ‘Settings’; press OK.
- Scroll to ‘Vehicle’ and press OK.
- Scroll to ‘Oil Life Reset’ and press OK.
- Select ‘Set to 100%’ and press and hold OK until ‘Reset successful’ appears.
If the Message Stays
- Hold OK longer at ‘Set to 100%’ — a quick press won’t confirm it.
- Engine running? — do it ignition-on only.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reset the service light on a Ford Mondeo Mk V?
Ignition on, steering-wheel menu → Settings → Vehicle → Oil Life Reset → Set to 100%, then press and hold OK.
Do I need a Ford diagnostic tool?
No — the reset is built into the dashboard menu.
Why won’t it confirm?
You must press and hold OK on ‘Set to 100%’ until ‘Reset successful’ shows.
Does this clear a warning light?
No — it only clears the oil-life reminder, not a fault light.
If a warning symbol (not the service message) is lit, look the code up on autodtcs.com. Changing the battery too? See our Mondeo battery guide.
