These instructions apply to the Ford Mustang Mk5 (S197) 2005-2014.

The 2005–2014 Ford Mustang (S197) has a direct TPMS with a sensor in each wheel. There’s no owner relearn — the system auto-relearns, and the low-pressure light clears once the pressures are correct. This is the US-market procedure.
- Set all four tires to the correct cold pressure from the placard.
- Drive for at least 2 minutes above 20 mph (32 km/h) and the low-pressure light turns off by itself.
If the light stays on (solid or flashing) with the tires correctly inflated and no spare fitted, a sensor needs a dealer activation tool — there’s no DIY training sequence on the Mustang. The placard with the cold pressures is on the driver’s door edge / B-pillar.
FAQ
Is there a reset button?
No — correct the cold pressures and drive a couple of minutes above 20 mph; the light clears itself.
It flashes then stays on.
That’s a TPMS fault — often a sensor battery, or wheels without sensors fitted. A dealer or tire shop can sort it.
What size tires?
V6 cars typically run 215/60R17 or 235/50R18; GTs run 235/50R18 up to staggered 20s — check your placard.
