These instructions apply to the Honda Accord Mk10 (CV) 2018-2022.

A flat 12 V battery will stop a 2018–2022 Honda Accord cranking. Ground the last clamp to the engine mounting bolt, not the dead battery. This is the US-market procedure (gas models).
- Switch off accessories and the engine; park a 12 V donor close but not touching. Open the cover on the Accord’s positive (+) terminal.
- Red (+) to the Accord’s positive (+), then to the donor’s positive (+).
- Black (−) to the donor’s negative (−), then to the engine mounting bolt on the Accord — not any other part.
- Start the donor and raise its rpm slightly, then start the Accord. Remove the cables in reverse order.
FAQ
Where’s the ground point?
The engine mounting bolt shown in the manual — not the dead battery’s negative post.
Cranks slowly?
Check the cable clamps are making clean metal contact, and give the donor a minute at raised rpm.
Does the hybrid jump the same way?
The hybrid’s 12V and jump point differ; this guide covers the gas Accord — see the hybrid manual for that model.
If your Accord stores a fault code with the warning light, look it up on autodtcs.com.
