Specifications, Dimensions and Weights

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 10, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Lexus RX Mk2 (XU30) 2003-2008.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Full specifications for the Lexus RX Mk2 (XU30, 2003–2009), laid out by variant. In Europe the XU30 was sold as the petrol RX 300 and later RX 350 V6, and the RX 400h 3.3 V6 full hybrid. The column below is the RX 400h, compiled from Lexus specification material; the RX 300 and RX 350 columns are added as each is confirmed. Confirm anything critical — weights, towing, tire sizes — against your own car’s papers.

Each column is one specific vehicle — a single engine or motor and, where shown, body style. Dimensions and several weights are specific to that body and drivetrain; other body or powertrain versions differ, so match the column to your own vehicle.

Sources: Owner's manual. Where an owner’s manual or homologation figure exists it takes precedence; workshop data fills only what those omit.

The RX 400h is a full hybrid, so a few figures work differently from a conventional SUV. Its all-wheel drive uses a separate electric motor on the rear axle (there is no propshaft or mechanical rear differential), the transmission is a planetary e-CVT rather than a stepped automatic, and the brakes blend regenerative and friction braking. A separate high-voltage traction battery powers the hybrid system alongside the ordinary 12 V battery.

A dash (—) means we haven’t confirmed that figure for that variant yet rather than that it doesn’t exist. Oil and coolant capacities, the 12 V battery rating and cold tire pressures are pending a verified per-car source and will be added.

Thinking of different wheels or tires? will they clear your Lexus RX arches? → Our wheel-offset & backspacing tool opens prefilled with this tire's OEM fitment (225/65 R17 or 235/55 R18) so you can see the change in poke, clearance and speedometer error.
