Home/Polestar/2/(2021-2024)/Reset the Service Indicator

Reset the Service Indicator

These instructions apply to the Polestar 2 (2021-2024). For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 10, 2026

After maintenance such as a brake-fluid change on your Polestar 2 (2021–2024), the service indicator can be reset from the driver’s seat with a pedal-and-button sequence — no tool needed.

Before You Start

  • Only reset after the relevant maintenance is done.
  • Have the car powered on and your foot ready for the brake pedal.

Resetting the Service Indicator

  1. Press and hold the brake pedal.
  2. Press and hold the button (A) on the steering wheel/stalk.
  3. Move the gear selector to ‘D’ (or ‘R’) and wait about 10 seconds until a warning light flashes.
  4. Within 4 seconds, release button (A).
  5. A confirmation message appears — the service indicator is reset.

If the Reset Doesn’t Take

  • Keep the brake held throughout the sequence.
  • Mind the timing — release the button within 4 seconds of the light flashing.
  • A service message that won’t clear can store a code — look it up on autodtcs.com.

Frequently Asked Questions
