These instructions apply to the Suzuki Ignis Mk3 (ATK) 2016-Present.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
Most Suzuki Ignis Mk3 (ATK, 2016–present) models use a single H4 halogen bulb (12V 60/55W) for each headlight, covering both dipped and main beam. You can change one from the engine bay in a few minutes. Higher trims with LED headlights are sealed units and are not a DIY bulb change.

How to change a headlight (H4) bulb
- Switch the lights off and open the bonnet. Work on one side at a time.
- At the back of the headlight, pull off the rubber weather cover.
- Unplug the connector from the back of the bulb.
- Release the wire spring clip that holds the bulb and swing it aside.
- Lift the old H4 bulb out. Handle the new bulb by its metal base only — do not touch the glass, as skin oils shorten its life.
- Seat the new bulb with its locating tabs in the notches, refit the spring clip, reconnect the plug and refit the rubber cover.
- Test both beams before closing the bonnet.
Frequently asked questions
What headlight bulb does the Ignis use? An H4 (12V 60/55W) halogen for both dip and main beam, on halogen-equipped cars.
I touched the glass — does it matter? Wipe it with a clean cloth and a little alcohol before fitting; fingerprints create hot spots that fail the bulb early.
My car has LED headlights — can I change the bulb? No. LED units are sealed; a failure is a dealer repair.
If a bulb-out or lighting warning stays on after fitting a good bulb, check the message at autodtcs.com.
