Set the Clock

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated September 22, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross Mk1 (JY) 2013-2021.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The clock on the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross (JY, 2013–2021) is set from the information display between the dials, using the small selector knob — not the audio unit. It’s a quick job after a battery disconnect or the daylight-saving change.

How to Set the Clock

  1. Switch the ignition to ON so the information display is active.
  2. Enter the display’s setting mode and select Clock setting (press and hold the info-display button to reach the menu).
  3. The hour highlights (reversed colour). Turn the selector knob left or right to change it — turn and hold to move quickly.
  4. Push the selector knob to set the hour; the minutes then highlight. Turn to set them, then push to confirm.

Don’t switch the ignition off or start moving while you’re in setting mode — it cancels the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my S-Cross clock reset?

A disconnected or flat 12 V battery clears the time. Re-enter setting mode and set the hour and minutes with the selector knob.

There’s no clock button — how do I get to it?

The clock lives in the information display’s setting menu. Hold the display button to open the menu, then choose Clock setting and use the selector knob.

Can I switch between 12- and 24-hour time?

On models that offer it, the time format is in the same display settings menu; otherwise the display follows the region’s default.

The knob won’t change the numbers — why?

You’re not in setting mode, or the hour/minute field isn’t highlighted. Open Clock setting first so the digits show in reversed colour, then turn the knob.

If a warning light appeared after a battery change rather than just a reset clock, look the code up on autodtcs.com. See also our S-Cross battery guide.
