These instructions apply to the Toyota Camry Mk7 (XV50) 2012-2017.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.
The “Maintenance Required” reminder on the 2012–2017 Toyota Camry is cleared with the trip meter and the ignition — the same three steps on the gas car and the Hybrid, with only the switch name differing.
- Switch the display to trip meter A, then turn the car fully off: the engine switch / ENGINE START STOP (gas) or the POWER switch (Hybrid) to OFF.
- Press and hold the display-change button (the trip/odometer button on the cluster).
- While holding it, turn the ignition to ON — IGNITION ON mode (gas) or POWER ON mode, not READY (Hybrid). Do not start the engine.
- Keep holding until the trip meter shows 000000 and the message clears, then release.
The light flashes for about 15 seconds at each 5,000-mile interval before it stays on, so reset it right after every oil change or service.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reset the Maintenance Required light on a Camry?
Show trip meter A, turn the ignition off, hold the display-change button, turn the ignition to ON (without starting), and keep holding until the trip meter reads 000000.
Is the Hybrid reset different?
Only the switch name — use the POWER switch in ON mode instead of the engine switch. The three steps are otherwise identical.
Why won’t my Camry reset?
Make sure trip meter A (not B or the odometer) is displayed before you begin, and that you turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
