Reset the Maintenance Light

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 12, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Toyota Camry Mk8 (XV70) 2018-2024.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The 2018–2024 Toyota Camry (XV70) shows its Maintenance Required reminder on the multi-information display, and you clear it from the display menu after an oil change — no tool, no trip-meter trick. This is the US-market procedure (gas models).

  1. With the ignition ON, use the steering-wheel meter-control switches to open the settings screen on the multi-information display.
  2. On the 4.2-inch display, select Vehicle Settings and press; on the 7-inch display, select the menu icon and press and hold.
  3. Select Scheduled Maintenance and press.
  4. Select Yes and press. A completion message appears.

After a reset, “Maintenance Required Soon” returns at about 4,500 miles and “Visit Your Dealer” at about 5,000 miles.

FAQ

Where is the reset — is there a button?

It is in the multi-information display menu (Vehicle Settings → Scheduled Maintenance → Yes), driven by the steering-wheel meter switches. There is no separate reset button or trip-meter method on the XV70.

Does the engine need to run?

No — the ignition only needs to be ON to reach the menu.

What oil does it take?

The 2.5L four uses 0W-16 (about 4.8 qt with a filter); the 3.5L V6 uses 0W-20 (about 5.7 qt).

My Camry is a hybrid.

The menu reset is the same. Hybrid-specific service items (and the trunk 12V battery) are covered in the separate hybrid manual.

If your Camry stores a fault code with the warning light, look it up on autodtcs.com.
