Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPMS)

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 12, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Toyota Camry Mk8 (XV70) 2018-2024.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The 2018–2024 Toyota Camry (XV70) has a direct TPMS with a sensor in each wheel. After a rotation or a pressure change you re-initialize it from the multi-information display — no scan tool. This is the US-market procedure.

  1. Park with the engine off for at least 20 minutes, then set all four tires to the correct cold pressure (table below).
  2. Start the engine and open the settings screen on the multi-information display (meter switches). On the 4.2-inch display select Vehicle Settings; on the 7-inch display press and hold the menu icon.
  3. Select TPWS, then Set Pressure, and press and hold until the TPMS light blinks three times. The display shows “- -” while it learns.
  4. On cars with the pressure display, drive at 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for 10–30 minutes to finish.

FAQ

Is there a reset button?

No — the reset is in the multi-information display (TPWS → Set Pressure, held until the light blinks three times), then a short drive.

Do I need a tool?

No tool to re-initialize. Cars with the pressure display can also register new sensor IDs from the TPWS menu; base cars without the display need a dealer for new-sensor registration.

The light stays on.

Re-check cold pressures, repeat the Set Pressure step, and drive above 25 mph for 10–30 minutes. A dead sensor battery needs replacing.

If your Camry stores a fault code with the warning light, look it up on autodtcs.com.
