If your Magnum has the EVIC trip computer, its Personal Settings menu holds the customer-programmable features that decide how the wagon locks, lights and greets you. The menu is only reachable with the gear selector in Park, and every option is stepped through with the MENU button and the steering-wheel scroll and select buttons. Set it up once and the car remembers your choices.
How you get into it
On the Magnum the EVIC is the trip-computer display nested in the instrument cluster, operated from the steering-wheel switches rather than a screen. Press MENU to step through the headings, use the up/down (scroll) buttons to move between choices, and press select to change a value. Base wagons without the EVIC option have no Personal Settings menu at all — if you have no trip computer, there’s nothing here to program.
You will need the EVIC: these menus run on the Electronic Vehicle Information Center — the driver-information display between the gauges — and its steering-wheel menu buttons. It is standard on higher trims (R/T, SRT8, Limited) and optional on base models; a base car without the EVIC has no Personal Settings menu to change.
- Shift into Park and turn the ignition to On.
- Press and release the MENU button repeatedly until “Personal Settings” appears in the EVIC.
- Use the steering-wheel up/down (scroll) buttons to highlight a feature, then press the select button to change its value.
Depending on trim, the Magnum offers settings such as:
- Display language
- English or metric units
- Auto-lock the doors at 15 mph (on/off)
- Auto-unlock on exit
- Remote unlock: driver’s door first or all doors
- Recall memory position with remote unlock
- Sound the horn on remote lock
- Headlamp-off delay: 0, 30, 60 or 90 seconds
- Headlamps on with wipers
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Auto seat-back move on exit
- Tilt mirrors down in reverse
- Illuminated approach / accessory delay
- Flash headlamps with remote lock/unlock
Why your list may be shorter
The features shown depend on how the Magnum was optioned — an SE without the memory seat, rain sensor or navigation simply won’t list those items, which is expected rather than a fault. Each option is stored the instant you change it, so there’s no confirm step; when the value reads the way you like it, you’re done.
If it doesn’t behave
If the “Personal Settings” heading never scrolls up, check that the transmission is genuinely in Park and the key is at On, not Accessory — the menu stays locked in any other position. A display that flickers or reverts after a battery disconnect usually settles after one clean ignition cycle. If the menu keeps dropping out or the steering-wheel buttons stop responding, the cluster or switch pack may have a stored fault worth scanning. Make any changes with the wagon parked, never while driving.
