Reset the Tire Pressure Warning Light

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated September 7, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Nissan Murano Mk3 (Z52) 2015-2020.

The Nissan Murano (Z52, 2015–2020) has no TPMS reset button — the system relearns each wheel’s sensor automatically as you drive. To clear the low tire pressure warning light you correct the pressures and then drive a short distance so the system re-reads them.

How the Murano TPMS Works

  • Each road wheel (not the spare) has a pressure sensor. The low tire pressure warning light comes on when a tyre is low.
  • The light does not go out the instant you add air — the car must be driven above 25 km/h (16 MPH) so the system can re-read the sensors and turn it off.
  • This generation also has an Easy-Fill feature: while you inflate a tyre, the hazard lights flash and the horn beeps once when it reaches the correct pressure.

How to Clear the Warning Light

  1. Find the correct cold pressures on the tyre and loading label in the driver’s door frame.
  2. With the tyres cold, inflate every tyre (except the spare) to that pressure. The dash tyre-pressure display helps, but confirm with a gauge.
  3. On the Easy-Fill system, the hazard lights flash and the horn beeps once when a tyre reaches the right pressure — stop inflating that tyre.
  4. Drive the car above 25 km/h (16 MPH) for a few minutes.
  5. The low tire pressure warning light turns off once the system has re-read all four tyres.

If the Light Blinks and Stays On

A light that blinks for about a minute at every start and then stays on signals a TPMS malfunction — a failed sensor or a sensor the car cannot read — not simply low pressure. Diagnosing that needs a scan tool to read the sensor IDs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the TPMS reset button? There is none on this generation. The Murano relearns automatically once you drive above 25 km/h with the pressures corrected.

I added air but the light is still on — why? It only clears after you drive above 25 km/h; give it a few minutes on the road.

The light blinks then stays on — is that the same thing? No — a blink-then-steady pattern is a TPMS sensor fault, not low pressure. Have the sensors checked.

Does the spare wheel have a sensor? No — the system monitors the four road wheels only.
