Reset the Tyre Pressure Warning

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated September 24, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Renault Trafic Mk3 (X82) 2014-2021.

The Renault Trafic III (X82, 2014–2021) watches your tyre pressures and warns when one drops. After you’ve adjusted the pressures or changed a wheel or tyre, the system needs telling that the current pressures are the new “correct” reference — otherwise the warning stays on. It’s a quick dashboard reset, no tool needed.

Set the Pressures First

Always inflate the tyres to the correct pressures cold before resetting — the reset memorises whatever pressure is in the tyres at that moment as the target. The right figures are on the label in the driver’s door aperture or fuel flap, and vary between unladen and fully loaded, so set them for how the van is used.

Reset the Tyre Pressure Warning

  1. With the van stopped, turn the ignition on.
  2. Press the menu/scroll button repeatedly to move through the trip-computer list and select ‘Tyre pressure’ (on some vans, go via the ‘Vehicle’ menu first).
  3. Press and hold the OK/reset button for at least 3 seconds until a confirmation message appears on the display.
  4. Drive the van for the system to relearn and complete the reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the tyre pressure light on a Renault Trafic?

Ignition on, select ‘Tyre pressure’ in the dashboard menu, hold the OK button for about three seconds until it confirms, then drive. Set the correct cold pressures first.

Why won’t the tyre pressure warning go off?

Either a tyre is genuinely low — check and inflate all four (and the spare if it’s monitored) — or the system wasn’t reset after the last adjustment. Correct the pressures cold, then run the reset above.

Do I need to reset it after putting the spare on?

Yes — any wheel or tyre change means the reference pressures should be reset once the correct pressures are set.

Is it the same on the Fiat Talento, Nissan NV300 and Vauxhall Vivaro?

Yes — the same X82 dashboard and system, so the reset is identical.

If a tyre-pressure or sensor fault code showed, look it up on autodtcs.com.
