These instructions apply to the Suzuki Vitara Mk4 (LY) 2015-2024.

Replace the wiper blades on your Suzuki Vitara (LY) as soon as they streak, smear or feel brittle. It’s a few-minute job with no tools, and the front blades on the Vitara use a lock-and-slide fitting shown in the owner’s manual.
How to replace the front wiper blades on a Suzuki Vitara
- Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up. Raise the driver’s-side arm first so the arms don’t clash.
- Open the lock on the blade, then slide the wiper frame along and off the hook of the arm.
- Pull the locked end of the old blade free and slide the rubber blade out of the frame.
- If your blade uses the small metal retainers, transfer them from the old blade to the new one, keeping them the correct way round.
- Fit the new blade in reverse, with the retaining end toward the arm, and make sure it clicks fully into every hook.
- Refit the frame onto the arm and check the lock clip is firmly engaged before lowering the arm.
When lowering the arms afterward, bring the passenger-side arm down first so they don’t catch on each other.
Rear wiper blade
The tailgate wiper is similar: lift the arm, release the frame from the arm, slide the blade out, transfer any retainers, and fit the new blade in reverse. Don’t over-bend the blade’s fixing end — it can snap.
Frequently asked questions
Which wiper arm do I lift first on a Vitara?
The driver’s side first when raising, and lower the passenger side first — that stops the arms hitting each other.
Do I need tools to change Vitara wiper blades?
No. They lift, unlock and slide off by hand.
My blades are the wrong type — what now?
Fittings vary slightly by model year; if yours differ from the above, check the new blade’s instructions or ask a Suzuki dealer for the right type.
