Specifications, Dimensions and Weights

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 12, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Toyota Tacoma Mk2 (N200) 2005-2015.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Full specifications for the second-generation Toyota Tacoma (N200, 2005-2015), by engine — the 2.7L four and 4.0L V6. Power, towing, cab and bed options and dimensions are cross-checked against manufacturer figures; fluids and capacities are from the owner manual. Dimensions vary by cab and bed — the common Access/Double Cab figures are shown.

Each column is one specific vehicle — a single engine or motor and, where shown, body style. Dimensions and several weights are specific to that body and drivetrain; other body or powertrain versions differ, so match the column to your own vehicle.

Sources: Owner's manual · Workshop data. Where an owner’s manual or homologation figure exists it takes precedence; workshop data fills only what those omit.

A dash (—) means we haven’t verified that figure for that variant yet. Figures are US-market. Towing, payload and weights are best-case/config-dependent — your door-jamb label is the authority.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can the 2005-2015 Tacoma tow?

3,500 lb with the 2.7L four, and up to 6,500 lb with the 4.0L V6 and the Tow Package.

Why do the horsepower figures differ for 2005-06?

The V6 was rated 245 hp (and the four 164 hp) before 2007, then 236/159 hp after — a change in the SAE measurement standard, not the engine.

What oil does it take?

0W-20 on the 2.7L four (about 6.1 qt with a filter) and 5W-30 on the 4.0L V6.

What tire pressures?

29-35 psi depending on the fitted size — follow the door-jamb placard for your exact tires.

Disclaimer: Specifications vary by model year, trim, cab and options. Always confirm critical figures (towing, weights, tire sizes) against your own vehicle’s door label and documents.
