Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPMS)

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 12, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Dodge Charger Mk7 (LD) 2011-2023.

The 2011–2023 Dodge Charger monitors each wheel with a direct TPMS sensor. There’s nothing to press and no tool to buy — set the pressures right and the sedan relearns them on the move. This is the US-market procedure.

  1. Inflate all four tires to the cold pressure on the placard (see below).
  2. Drive for up to 10 minutes above 15 mph (24 km/h). The sensors report in and the warning light switches itself off.
  3. A SERVICE TPM SYSTEM message or dashes (- -) instead means a sensor has failed — that’s a dealer job.

Finding the Charger’s pressures

The cold pressures and tire sizes live on the Tire and Loading Information placard on the driver’s B-pillar or the rear edge of the driver’s door. Road tires in the 18–20-inch range usually sit around 32 psi, but the wide SRT and staggered setups differ — the placard is the authority for your car.

FAQ

How do I reset the Charger’s TPMS?

You don’t press anything — correct the cold pressures and drive about 10 minutes above 15 mph; the system clears itself.

Why is the light still on?

Re-check every tire cold against the placard. If it won’t clear or you see SERVICE TPM SYSTEM, a sensor (often a dead sensor battery) needs replacing.

Can I see each tire’s pressure?

Chargers with the Premium TPMS show per-wheel pressures in the driver display; the base system shows only a warning light.

The Charger shares its LX platform, drivetrains and these procedures with the two-door Dodge Challenger.

If your Charger stores a fault code with the warning light, decode it on autodtcs.com.
