If the tyre-pressure warning is on in your Vauxhall Astra Mk8 (L, 2022–present) after adjusting pressures or changing wheels, you need to tell the car the current pressures are correct. On the Astra that’s a quick step in the touchscreen. Here’s how.
Set the Pressures First
Inflate all four tyres cold to the figure on the label in the driver’s door opening (the Astra often lists an “eco” and a “full load” pair — use the right one for your load).
How to Reset the Astra Mk8 TPMS
- With the car powered on, open the touchscreen and select the ‘Driving assistance’ menu.
- Select the tyre-pressure / ‘Under-inflation initialisation’ option.
- Select ‘Yes’ to confirm — the system stores the current pressures and resets.
On Astras without the large touchscreen, the tyre-pressure reset is in the driver-information/cluster menu instead.
If the Warning Stays On
- Re-check every tyre, including the spare if it’s a monitored full-size wheel.
- One tyre keeps dropping — look for a slow puncture; the system is doing its job.
- A steady-flashing light points to a system fault rather than low pressure — have it scanned.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the tyre-pressure reset on the Astra Mk8?
Touchscreen: Driving assistance → tyre pressure / under-inflation initialisation → Yes. Cars without the screen use the cluster menu.
Do I need a tool?
Not for a normal reset — set the pressures and confirm in the menu. A tool is only needed if sensors were replaced.
Why did the light come on in the cold?
Pressure drops with temperature. Top up to the door-label figure and reset.
Why does the Astra list two pressure figures?
One is for light/eco load, one for full load — set to the column that matches your load, then reset.
If a fault code is stored, look it up on autodtcs.com. To clear a service reminder, see our Astra Mk8 service reset guide.
