Home/Peugeot/5008/Mk2 (P87) 2017-Present/Reset the Service Indicator

Reset the Service Indicator

These instructions apply to the Peugeot 5008 Mk2 (P87) 2017-Present. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 6, 2026

The spanner symbol on your Peugeot 5008 Mk2 (P87, 2017–present) means the maintenance counter has reached zero. You reset it with the trip-reset button on the dash — no diagnostic gear required. Carry out the oil and filter change first.

Reset Only Once the Work Is Done

The counter just tracks distance and time since the last reset, so clearing it early simply hides the reminder.

How to Reset the 5008 Service Indicator

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Press and hold the trip-reset button (the one you use to zero the trip distance).
  3. Keeping it held, turn the ignition on.
  4. The spanner appears and a countdown runs — keep holding.
  5. When it reaches ‘0’ and the spanner clears, release the button. Done.

If It Won’t Clear

  • Released too soon — hold right through to ‘0’.
  • It’s another warning — a non-service symbol is a fault, not the maintenance timer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the service light on a Peugeot 5008?

Ignition off, hold the trip-reset button, turn the ignition on, and keep holding until the countdown reaches 0.

Is a diagnostic tool needed?

No — the dashboard trip button does it.

Which button resets it?

The trip-reset button — the one that zeroes the trip distance.

Why did the spanner come back?

The countdown didn’t finish. Repeat and hold to ‘0’.

If a warning light came on with the service message, identify it on autodtcs.com. After battery work, see our 5008 Mk2 battery guide.
