Put the Wipers in Service Position

These instructions apply to the NIO EL7 (2022-2024). For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 10, 2026

To change the wiper blades on your NIO EL7 (2022–2024), the arms first need to be lifted into their service position. You activate it from the central touchscreen so the wipers move clear of the bonnet.

Before You Start

  • Make sure the bonnet is closed — the arms swing up high.
  • Have the new blades ready before you begin.

Moving the Wipers to Service Position

  1. On the multifunction display, select ‘Settings’.
  2. Select ‘Driving’.
  3. Select ‘Service position’ — the wipers move up clear of the bonnet.
  4. Lift the arms and swap the blades.

Returning to Normal

After fitting the new blades, lower the arms back onto the glass, then exit service position (or operate the wipers) so they return to park.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I put the NIO EL7 wipers in service position?

Touchscreen > Settings > Driving > Service position.

Why can’t I just lift the arms?

Parked under the bonnet lip they won’t lift far enough — service position raises them and protects the linkage.

Do I need a tool?

No — it’s a touchscreen setting.

How do I return them to normal?

Exit service position on the display, or operate the wipers, and they return to park.

If a wiper fault appears afterwards, look up the code on autodtcs.com.
