Disconnect and Reconnect the Battery

These instructions apply to the Infiniti Q60 (V37) 2017-2024. For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Disconnecting the 12 V battery on your Infiniti Q60 (V37, 2017–2024) — for a new battery, winter storage, or work near the airbags — is a straightforward job. The battery is in the engine compartment.

Find the Battery First

The 12 V battery is in the engine compartment, under a cover. Note your radio presets before you start.

Disconnecting Safely

  1. Turn the ignition off and make sure all electrical consumers are off.
  2. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive.
  3. Working near airbags or seat-belt pretensioners? Wait a few minutes after disconnecting.

Reconnecting and Re-initialising

Reconnect positive first, then negative. The Q60 then needs a few items relearned:

  • Power windows — re-initialise one-touch (see our window initialisation guide).
  • Tyre pressure monitor — re-store the pressures from the menu.
  • Re-enter the clock and presets.

If Something Isn’t Right Afterwards

  • Warning lights often clear after a short drive.
  • A persistent light stores a code — look it up on autodtcs.com.
  • Fit a like-for-like battery of the correct type and rating.
