Reset the Tire Pressure Warning Light

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 2, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the BMW X5 Mk3 (F15/F85) 2013-2019.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The BMW X5 (F15, 2013–2019) learns the current tire pressures as its reference, so you reset the tire-pressure warning through the iDrive screen after inflating the tires or changing a wheel, then drive a short distance to finish.

How to Reset the Tire Pressure Warning on a BMW X5 (F15)

  1. Set all four tires to the correct cold pressures (label on the driver’s door pillar or fuel flap).
  2. Switch the ignition on.
  3. On iDrive open VEHICLE INFO, then Vehicle status.
  4. Select Tyre pressure monitoring, start the engine, then select Reset.
  5. Drive the vehicle to complete the relearn.

When You Need to Reset

  • After checking or adjusting tire pressures.
  • After changing one or more wheels or tires, including winter wheels.
  • After rotating the tires.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the tire pressure light still on after resetting?

The system stores whatever pressures are set when you reset, and needs a short drive to finish. Inflate every tire correctly first, then reset and drive.

Does the X5 F15 have pressure sensors?

Many F15s have in-wheel sensors (RDC). The reset is still the iDrive “Reset” plus a drive; only a sensor that’s failed or newly fitted needs matching.
