Set and Recall the Memory Seat

On a memory-equipped 300, the buttons on the driver’s door store the seat and exterior-mirror positions (and your radio presets) for two people, so the car settles into your spot the moment you climb in. On a luxury sedan often shared between a couple or handed to a valet, that’s the difference between a relaxed getaway and a fumble with the power-seat switches. Setting it takes under a minute and needs no tools.

How you know it needs re-setting

The usual reason to be here is that a memory button no longer brings the seat back to where it should be — it either does nothing or drives to the wrong position. That most often follows a battery disconnect or a flat battery, which can wipe the stored profiles, so you simply store them again. A recall that’s silent while you’re rolling isn’t a fault at all: it’s the Park interlock doing its job.

1. Adjust the seat and both exterior mirrors to the position you want to save.
2. Press the SET (or memory) button, then press memory button 1 (or 2) within five seconds. A confirmation tells you the position is stored.
3. To recall it any time, press memory 1 or 2 with the car in Park; the seat and mirrors move to the saved position.

Linking the profile to a key fob

You can make your unlock button restore your profile automatically: press SET, press 1 or 2 within five seconds, then with the key removed press LOCK on the fob you want to pair. That fob’s unlock now recalls the profile, provided “recall memory with RKE unlock” is enabled in the EVIC Personal Settings. The separate “Easy Exit” feature slides the seat back when you pull the key and returns it on restart, easing the climb out of a low-slung sedan.

If a recall won’t play

• Check the car is in Park — the system blocks seat travel while you’re driving, so a recall on the move is deliberately ignored.
• If the profiles vanished, re-store them; a recent battery disconnect is the most common cause of lost positions.
• Store within the five-second window after SET, or the button won’t capture the position.
• If a single memory motor (say, the seat-back) never reaches the same spot, that axis may have a mechanical or module fault rather than a lost setting.

Store and recall on level ground with the door shut so the mirrors index correctly, and let the seat finish travelling before you touch the manual switches. Once saved, the profiles are the first thing worth re-doing after you reconnect the battery.
