Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPMS)

Reviewed by the Service Reset editor · Updated October 12, 2026 · How we verify

These instructions apply to the Dodge Challenger Mk3 (LC) 2008-2023.
For other models, please choose your vehicle here.

The 2008-2023 Dodge Challenger has a direct TPMS with a sensor in each wheel. There is no button and no tool — once the pressures are right, the system relearns on its own as you drive. This is the US-market procedure.

  1. Set all four tires to the correct cold pressure from the placard (see below).
  2. Drive the car for up to 20 minutes above 15 mph (24 km/h). The sensors report the new pressures and the TPMS light turns off by itself.
  3. If a SERVICE TPM SYSTEM message or dashes (- -) show instead, a sensor has failed — that needs a dealer.

Where are the pressures?

The cold pressures and tire sizes are on the Tire and Loading Information placard on the driver’s-side B-pillar or the rear edge of the driver’s door. On the Challenger, 18–20-inch road tires typically run around 32 psi, but SRT and staggered fitments differ — always follow your placard.

FAQ

Is there a TPMS reset button?

No — correct the cold pressures and drive; the Challenger relearns automatically. There’s no owner button or tool.

The light stays on after driving.

Re-check all four cold pressures against the placard. A light that won’t clear (or a SERVICE TPM message) points to a failed sensor — a dealer or TPMS shop can test it.

Does it show individual tire pressures?

Cars with the Premium system display each wheel’s pressure in the driver information display; the base system shows a warning light only.

The Challenger shares its LX platform, drivetrains and these procedures with the four-door Dodge Charger.

If your Challenger stores a fault code with the warning light, decode it on autodtcs.com.
